Hero

In a world where evil and chaos reins supreme,
There comes from light, a superior scheme,
A plan of such cunning and skill,
That creates in most, a feeling of chill.
But to use this devious plot,
Requires a hero not to be caught.
He must sneak and hide,
Until he reaches the hillside
Once there, his speed must he increase,
To outrun the masses, the 'rebel police'.
From there he must go south,
To the Tames river mouth.
In the river there lies,
One fabulous prize.
But, this gift is not what you think,
It is not treasure, but the missing link;
A chest filled with hope and dreams,
But still worthy to put men to extremes.
Our agent will recover our so precious treasure,
And then will run back north, too fast to measure.
Quickly the hillside he passes,
Ignoring the soldiers, the arrogant asses.
From there the road is clear,
Or so it may appear.
Within the mile from our castle keep,
A monster did creep.
For the moment our valiant hero approached our gate,
He saw the creature that lie in wait.
"Back foul beast!" the man did cry.
but then The creature just hung his head and took a deep sigh.
"Young hero, do you wish to die?"
The monster said, his voice cold and dry.
"Give me that box, and you shall stay alive,
Refuse me and not even your cat will survive"
The monster said with spite,
With all his strength and might.
All the hero did was let out a series of chuckles,
And crack all of his knuckles.
"Go at it dastardly thing,
And see what light and goodness can bring"
With that nasty insult,  Aiming for our hero
the creature did charge, his speed? Max turbo.
Our hero, Without a second thought,
The top of the chest he caught.
He threw open the top,
And found what he sought;
A beam of light shot from the chest,
Surrounding our murderous guest.
The light spread across the land of Palm,
Until all was left was blissful calm.
The creatures were gone;
it was a glorious new dawn.
There were celebrations and cheering,
For no cries they were hearing.
This was what our hero had intended to do,
But in the end he fell; his death due.
There was no saving him,
The world was grim.
But he died with pride,
That was known far and wide.
And from there on he shall be remembered,
To save the world, his life he surrendered.
OK, so long story short, a few years ago I wrote several poems
